Contract

Thank you for choosing Loads of Joy diaper delivery service!  We appreciate your patience while we get this service off the ground.  We also value your feedback and recognize that the service is going to need some tweaking in the beginning as we get our feet wet.  Please call 678-463-4377 (Jennifer) if you need clarification or think of something that we have missed.

PRICING
All payments for service are non-refundable.
The first 8 weeks are payable upfront.  After that, you will be billed in four week increments.  You may pay with cash, credit card, or PayPal.  Please do not leave cash outside.  Call or e-mail to make arrangements to pay with cash.  We cannot give discounts if you take less diapers per week than the service is willing to provide.  There will be a discount if you have more than one child in diapers.  There is a $40 starter fee which includes the use of a diaper pail, 2 pail liners, a snappi, and 7 diaper covers.  The start up fee also includes administrative costs.  We cannot discount the starter fee even if you have some of the items that we are willing to provide.  However, if you have more than 1 child in diapers, there will be a discount of $25 for the 2nd starter fee, i.e. if you have 2 children, the starter fee would be $55, 3 children would be $70.

DISCOUNTS
We are willing to provide discounts for families that have multiple children in diapers.  Typically, the first order is billed at full price and the second is discounted $5 per week.

Number of Diapers
Option 1: 72 infant prefolds per week (6 dozen)
Option 2: 60 regular prefolds per week (5 dozen)

Absorbency
If you've used disposables, you may notice that the absorbency of cloth diapers is less.  That's because cloth diapers lack all of those fun chemicals that disposables contain - specifically the gel absorbency that has been associated with Toxic Shock and is no longer used in tampons.  Another disadvantage of disposables is that people tend to leave their children in soiled diapers because they hold the mess.  But it is actually recommended that diapers be changed after soiled regardless of wheter or not they are disposable.

HOW TO HANDLE YOUR DIAPERS
Please don't rinse our diapers as this will promote mold growth.  Please shake/scrape off all loose stool into your toilet and drop the diaper into the laundry hamper provided to you.  If you are having a difficult time removing all the stool on the diaper, please consider purchasing Bio-Soft flushable liners or a diaper sprayer.  Please do not launder our diapers at home as it may result in damage for which we will have to charge you.

We ask that you do not use Desitin or other diaper creams containing cod oil.  This results in staining and damage to the diapers.  Safe creams/ointments to use are:

Home Remedies for Diaper Rash: Home remedies for diaper rash include the application of breast milk, olive oil, coconut oil, lanoline (Lansinoh: pure lanoline), and corn starch.  Be selective about using cornstarch as it is known to make a yeast infection worse.  Also, lanoline is a product that may be an allergen. A soak in warm baking soda water is another soothing alternative, this is especially helpful if irritation is caused from baby's stools.

Diaper Rash Creams: Commercially available diaper creams may be used with cloth diapers.   ALWAYS AVOID DIAPER CREAMS WITH COD LIVER OIL or any other fish oils.  Recently many cloth diaper manufacturer's have developed diaper rash creams that are considered safe for cloth diapers.  In many cases, diaper rash creams specifically developed for use with cloth diapers is preferred.

Examples are:  California Baby Diaper Rash Cream, Method Baby Diaper Cream, Northern Essence Bum Butter Diaper Rash/Barrier Cream, and Avalon Baby Protective Ointment.

You are not responsible for laundering diaper covers or training pants.  You may put them with the diapers.

OUR LAUNDERING
Please be aware that we do not launder according to the National Diaper Association's standards.  We use Nellie's Laundry Soda, tea tree oil, and Bac-Out.  We do not use bleach or harsh chemicals.  Our diapers may appear to be more loved (stained) than what you might expect, but they have been thoroughly sanitized.  Your diapers and pail liner will be washed together, but not with other client's diapers and pail liners.

DIAPER PICK UP & DELIVERY
Each week we will deliver your clean diapers in one of the pail liners.  The bag will contain the diapers you have been using.  The diapers you are using will only be used by you during your contract period.  At the end of your service, your diapers will be super sanitized to be used on the next baby, so please follow the guidelines listed above.  On your specified delivery day, if you are not at home or work, please leave the bag of used diapers on your porch or other predesignated area.

Diapers need to be left at first story level.  If this is not possible for you, please let us know as we may make exceptions in certain circumstances.  Additionally, Loads of Joy needs to be able to make deliveries quickly.  There should be on site parking (a VERY close  proximity to the diapers) available so that we are able to make a quick drop and keep to our delivery schedule.

Loads of Joy also needs to be assured that the conditions are safe for us to make deliveries.  For instance, unleashed animals that appear even slightly threatening may make us feel unsafe.  Should we feel unsafe, we will not be able to make the delivery that week.  You will be asked to make other arrangements to make the pickup.

IF YOU HAVE MISSED YOUR PICK UP
If you have forgotten to set your used diapers out or missed the pick up, you may call to make other arrangements.  It is best to set your diapers out for pick up the night before as the delivery person may arrive as early as 6:00 a.m. for pickup.  There also may be days that we arrive as late as 6:00 p.m.

YOUR RESPONSIBILITY
You are responsible for the diapers and all of the products that we leave at your house.  Please select a location for drop off or pick up that is safe.  If you don't feel safe leaving the diapers outside, we can ring your doorbell but the diapers must be ready to go and we cannot provide a specific time that we will arrive.  If either the dirty, the clean, or any product that we leave for you or you leave for us is lost, stolen, or damaged, you will be required to pay for the replacement.

DIAPER COUNT
We provide 12 extra diapers.  These diapers should provide cushion should there be inclement weather, staff illness, or any other unforeseen circumstance that would prevent your scheduled delivery.  We will make every effort to deliver your diapers on time, but will not make deliveries during inclement weather.  Should prolonged inclement weather be predicted, it would be prudent to have disposable diapers on hand.  If there is a circumstance where delivery will be delayed, Loads of Joy will make every effort to get in touch with you.  Please be sure that we have updated contact information - phone number and e-mail address.

Clean diapers should only be turned in after you have spoken to us on the phone about a size change or a number drop.  Please do not turn in your clean diapers unless you have spoken to us because this will throw your number and count off.

Finally, because we are a rental service, you are charged for the full amount we maintain you at regardless of usage.  The diaper rental is week by week, not per diaper.  Each week you have diapers out of our stock and unavailable to other customers is a fully charged rental week.

TOO FEW DIAPERS?
We increase diaper counts in increments of 12.  The cost is only $3.00 per week, per 12 diapers, that you wish to increase.  Most babies need diapering for at least 1 1/2  - 2 years.  As your baby gets older and has more control, he or she will probably need fewer diapers.  Because of how the two week rotation works, it is normal and even essential to the two week cycle to have extra, clean diapers left over each week.  Frequent decreases and increases in your rental number or refusing a delivery due to a perceived backlog will throw your count off and may incur special delivery charges to get you back on track.  We advise that you find a realistic number of diapers for your needs and stay with this number until it is very obvious it is time to drop.  If you need help with calculations, please do not hesitate to let us know.

DIAPER SIZES
Loads of Joy is pleased to offer its customers a range of diaper sizes to fit your growing baby.  We have 3 sizes of prefolds:  preemies, infants, and regular.

Within all sizes there will be variations in size due to the nature of the cotton diaper shrinking during the hot wash process.  We are constantly adding in brand new diapers and sorting out the ones that are too shrunken, or that are not up to our high standards of quality.  You will sometimes see up to a 2 inch difference in the same size category.  This guide will provide you with some approximate weight ranges for the diapers and help ensure that you always have the correct size for your baby:

preemie - 4-8 pounds
infant - 7-15 pounds
regular - 15-30 pounds

Special toddler diapers (30+ pounds) are available as a special order.  There is an additional fee for these larger diapers.  If you have a need for the toddler size, please e-mail or call us for details.

Just give us a call if you notice the diapers getting too short or too snug, or if you are noticing rapid soak through (which would indicate needing a thicker absorbency).  You should also keep in mind you will need to change your diaper wrap/cover or nylon pant size on a regular basis as your child grows.  You will experience fewer leaks and a happier baby when you have the proper size!  Please also note, it may take 2 - 3 weeks  to get the bigger size, so please give us notice when things start to feel small.  If you are switching to a new size, a new 8 week commitment is required and needs to be prepaid.

ACCESSORIES
We are able to sell diaper covers and accessories to you.  We are also able to deliver this to your door with your next delivery with in-stock items.  If we don't have your size available, please contact us so we can order it for you.

PRE-BIRTH DELIVERY
Normally we try to get a pre-birth delivery into your home about 2 weeks prior to your due date.  Typically, the normal weekly rental charges do not start until after you bring the baby home.  However, if you have had the pre-birth delivery in your home over 4 weeks without activation or without contacting us with your extenuating circumstanes,  we will call to let you know that charges have begun to accrue on your account.

Our minimum sign-up time is 8 weeks, and this first 8 weeks is not refundable.  This payment is due before your first drop off.  We will be unable to make a delivery unless payment has been made.  You may either pay by cash or PayPal.  Please notify us after your birth so that we can begin to make deliveries.  We also offer gift registry and gift certificates.

VACATIONS
Prior to going on your vacation, we ask that you give a 2 week notice to make sure we can make proper pick up arrangements.  Since we are a weekly rental service, our vacation policy is to pick up all dirty diapers.  You are still responsible for paying for service while you are away even if you don't get diapers delivered.

ENDING SERVICE
To discontinue your service, we require a minimum of a 2 week notice in advance of your next scheduled delivery day/payment cycle.  After notifying us, it is your responsibility to keep track of your ending date and round up all diapers, put them into bags with your name on them and set them outside with the diaper hamper for final pickup.  At that time, the final diaper count audit is done and you will be contacted by mail, phone and/or e-mail regarding any refunds or charges due.    Remember, there is a $3 per diaper fine, not a purchase price, for any damaged or unreturned diapers, and it can add up fast!  If you choose to keep the diaper pail, you may purchase it for $12.00, snappis for $2.49 plus tax, and the pail liner(s) can be kept for $20 each plus tax.

Due to the startup nature of this service, we must reserve the right to make changes to the contract, pricing, and delivery schedule.

By signing, I acknowledge that I agree to the above.
